SUZUME, A Japanese Sparrow with an Open Soul. In Japanese, SUZUME (スズメ) means “sparrow”– a small, lively, and agile bird. But in Japanese culture, SUZUME is more than just a bird. It represents simplicity, loyalty, family, and the quiet strength to fly far while staying connected to home.
At SUZUME, we bring authentic Japanese flavors to our customers through carefully selected sake, ceremonial matcha, rice, artisanal soy sauces, and time-honored ingredients. We believe that taste is A bridge of seasons, cultures, and people. Between Japan, known for its elegance, precision, and grace, and our clients, who bring warmth, curiosity, and vibrancy. Every bottle of sake, every tin of matcha, every drop of shoyu tells a story. And like the sparrow, every story starts with roots. Who We Work With
We partner directly with family-owned breweries, certified producers, and award-winning artisans across Japan.
Our portfolio is thoughtfully curated for chefs, boutique retailers, sommeliers, and culinary creatives seeking to experience the finest of Japan – in taste, spirit, and tradition.
At Suzume, we bring to Israel the culture of sake and Japanese cuisine, just as it is known and loved in Japan itself: with respect for tradition, attention to the smallest details, and a deep love for taste and for the moment.
We believe that taste is a bridge between the seasons, between cultures and people – between the aesthetic Japan, with its precision and grace, and People, with its curiosity, directness, and warmth.
Behind every bottle of sake, every leaf of matcha, or every drop of soy lies a story – and every good story begins with roots, rooted in the wonderful people who proudly and devotedly create their products.

SUZUME Wine was born out of a deep love for wine and the stories behind it. We searched for multi-generational winemakers families where knowledge is passed from father to son, from vine to bottle.
Tasting their wines took us on a journey to France’s Loire Valley – to the salty breezes of Nantes, to the stony soils of Muscadet, and joyful meals shared between the vines.
There, we discovered “Sur Lie” winemaking – where the wine rests on its lees – and felt an unexpected connection to the world of sake, where yeast and time play a similar poetic role.
Along the way, we also found other beautiful things.
Suzume Wine is our way of bringing them to you.
